Unusual Articles and Websites

This is a page full of strange, obscure or otherwise noteworthy articles I've collected and find interesting. Becuase I don't have an internet browser on my phone anymore, I spend a lot of time on the Wikipedia app. I love learning about how the Siberian Ice Maiden got her ancient tattoos? What did Etruscan music really sound like? Is Sporalogy the new Astrology? Who invented Russian ovens and is a degree in Canadian Studies really worth it? I have no internet browsers on my phone anymore. Becuase of my crippling porn addiction, I've blocked a number of things on my phone including most social media apps, and any way to search the internet. Looing for pictures? I use Wikimedia Commons. Have a question? I look on the Wikipedia app. If it's not there I often never find out, and that's okay.

• The Internationalist Communist Tendency. A group of individuals around the world that believe in Communism. In general they believe Capitalism will doom us all, that Stalinism in Soviet Russia was not real Communism, and that people all over the world deserve support and the right to rise up against the bourgeoisie. People

• The Siberian Ice Maiden is one of the oldest most well preserved mummies in the world. Found frozen in the cold Siberian wilderness, her claim to fame is intricate tattoos that wrap all around her body featuring images of horses and other glyphs.

• Denis Diderot is one of the authors and publishers of what would become one of the first mass produced encyclopedias. He suffered a number of misfortunes living most of his life struggling to put food on the table, until Catherine the Great heard of his research and funded his work for the last years of his life.
• Catherine The Great. As the Tsar of Russia she was asked by the King of England to send Russian troops overseas to fight the American Colonists. Ultimately she refused, but what may have happened if she didn't?
• The Lady of the Dark! She is the most-decorated female combatant in the history of human warfare. Her brother who was ill with tuberculosis received call-up papers for mobilization for the First Balkan War. She chose to go in his place — cutting her hair and donning men's clothes and joining the Serbian army. She was wounded in battle nine times, and because of her immense courage and leadership, the French called her the "Serbian Joan of Arc".
